"I found out about bootcamp at Sam's Zumba class. I'd never done bootcamp before so thought I would give it a go. And my results have been excellent, better than I expected!
I have joined gyms before and done weight loss programs but never had any noticeable or lasting results. When people started to notice I had lost weight/cm's, it was a great boost for my confidence and gave me added enthusiasm to continue. I've definitely got more energy since I started bootcamp, and I think that following Sam's dietary advice has been a crucial part of getting the results I have. I plan to continue with that. I feel I'm on the road to a healthier feeling and slimmer/toned me. I would recommend bootcamp to my friends, to work people and to other mum's." Thanks Sam! Louise Currin "I started attending Sam's bootcamp after hearing about it through some friends who were doing her Zumba classes. The Zumba classes were a little early in the evening for me so when I heard about bootcamp at 7:30 I was keen as it meant I could get the kids fed and off to bed before heading out. The aforementioned children are my reason for needing some good workouts and good encouragement to get moving again. The sessions are great - they give you a great workout but don't drag on and are mixed up well to keep it fun. Sams bubbly personality keeps the smiles going even when the thighs are burning. Over 7 weeks I lost 12 cms which I'm sure could have been more again if I had been better behaved with my eating but for me it is a fantastic start. I have plenty of more weight to move so are ready to get stuck in with Sam and the girls again this year to keep it happening. My jeans are fitting better - now I just want to downsize them! If you are finding it hard to get up and moving or want a 'personal trainer experience' without the huge price tag then I really recommend Sam’s bootcamps to give a fantastic workout but also make you feel more energetic through the rest of the week. There are a range of ladies attending with a range of abilities. Everyone does as much as they can for their level and no one is judged or compared." Thanks Sam Raylene "I was taking part in a zumba class and so heard about it through this and also through the desire fitness website. I had also talked with Sam about my frustration in trying to get fitter and feel better about my body. I also had a concern about the possibility of developing type 2 diabetes as my Mother and her siblings have all developed this. I wasn’t sceptical as such but more intrigued to see if the changes Sam suggested would actually work for me. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to keep to the food plan and perhaps a little sceptical about if I could afford to eat the way the food plan suggested. A big ask for my family when we already live on a very tight budget. I was pleasantly surprised on both accounts, I have kept to the plan and have found the results of eating this way beneficial in many ways. And it hasn’t really cost any more than the way I was previously eating. The results are brilliant. Within a few days I felt better especially as the bloated gassy stomach I often experienced ceased. For the past three or four years I have walked 5 times a week for 30 minutes, have attempted to limit food intake and yet felt my weight slowly escalating. The impact of boot camp and learning about a better way of eating and exercising has had significant impact on my health and my lifestyle. As much as I knew I needed to address the way I felt about my body and the way the scales just kept shifting upwards, I also needed a plan that would work, and that would be affordable and that I could fit into a busy life of working full time, studying and being a Mum to 3 kids. Boot camp has enabled me in all these areas. I still exercise 5 times a week for 30 – 35 minutes and the food changes cost about the same as I was eating previously. The cost of boot camp is of course off set by the fact I feel better, have more energy and am motivated to stay on track. The changing scales helps as well but the benefits of knowing I am supporting my body for life long health is better than my changing shape. The other fantastic part of boot camp was being with a group of women who were in it together, the motivation and support I felt each week was wonderful. Sam also would push us, goad us and inspire us to try harder and reach higher. I feel like I have more control over what I eat, and that the need for food doesn’t rule me like it did previously. My exercise routines have changed, each week I gained new skills and learn new exercises, all of which I can do at home and in my own time. I have constructed for myself a 35 minute routine consisting of the exercises we did at boot camp, all attainable and manageable. I love it and feel so much more motivated than I did three months ago. Over the Christmas period I decided that because I felt so good on the food plan that Sam had given me I did not want to change it at all, and it hasn’t felt hard at all. But I know that if I had eaten one piece then it would have been harder to say no. It hasn’t all been a walk in the park, I have been determined and will need to continue to be so. I will need to stay focused but I want the results and I know I can continue to achieve them. My other motivation for living this way is that I have a nine year old daughter who is growing and developing. Several times over the past year I have heard myself say (in her hearing ) I’m fat or I look revolting etc. This is not the example I want to set for her. I have pulled myself up on this and seen that I needed to make changes so that I would feel better about my body and also feel that I am treating my body in the best way I can, making the most of the body I have . The tip and tools I have learnt from boot camp all help me to do this. I want my daughter to hear her Mum say things like “This looks good, I am healthy, I have the energy I need” . I already have recommended it to several friends and I will continue to recommend it to anyone who feels overwhelmed by trying to keep on track with fitness and weight management. Thanks Sam, for your motivation, for pushing me beyond what I thought was possible, for encouraging me and for sharing all the wonderful life changing things that you have discovered."
